Raising Asahi’s sustainability profile through specialist support

The challenge:

Establishing Asahi as a trusted global sustainability leader through content production, award submissions, event engagements and social and internal communications.

Asahi environmental initiative

Our approach:

Leading Asahi’s corporate sustainability activities through key communications, we helped the company achieve recognition through award wins and become the first-ever WFA Planet Pledge co-chair alongside Mars, while also leveraging our connection with Climate Group to secure and maintain Asahi’s position as an RE100 board member.

As well as increasing social and online sustainability communications, with 4.5 million impressions since 2021 and 450,000+ on LinkedIn alone in 2023, we helped Asahi build engagement and share knowledge internally, with 214 posts and articles amassing 419,000+ views, up 19% and 200% respectively from 2022.

We also built Asahi’s reputation as a sustainability leader through thought leadership and knowledge sharing, including publishing articles, presenting at major global sustainability forums including The Economist and Reuters and sharing best practices at COP, Climate Week and the UN Climate Change Conference.

Impact:

The results speak for themselves, with AEI winning sustainability awards, being invited to present at key global events and receiving widespread recognition from major players as a groundbreaking pioneer in sustainable operations.

What they said:

“Having a partner you can trust, a partner who brings expertise not just in communications but specifically in sustainability communications, a partner who is credible, ethical and who not only supports you but also brainstorms with you and challenges you is how I would define the partnership that we have with HN Communications.

Helen’s leadership in sustainability communications speaks volumes through her contributions to our sustainability programmes in both internal and external communications as well as stakeholder engagement. She has been working with us for more than 3 years and is not only a trusted advisor, but also an integral part of our sustainability engagement team.

Through the years, Helen has worked closely with our head of sustainability and head of procurement, our CEO, CMO, CFO and the entire leadership team, building a rapport that is reflected in the authentic, credible, meaningful and powerful messaging that we have been able to create around sustainability. Helen and her team have gone above and beyond in supporting us through multiple projects on sustainability communications and stakeholder engagement at both global and local levels, internally and externally.

The work produced exhibits high levels of accuracy and productivity. But even more so, the team takes pride in their work and strives to improve it through proactive feedback cycles. The team’s dependability, cooperativeness and daily decision-making and problem-solving skills are much appreciated. Helen and her team’s sense of ownership, responsibility and accountability have ensured the continued success of our work together.”
